I was awake all night wanted to read and post an assignment but I couldn't. It was early morning when I decided to go to my father's shop to use the Internet there. My father's friend sent him several text messages to convince him use IMQQ instead of yahoo messenger or oovoo.
When he began to call and text him, he asked me about it, and I said "I have no Idea!!!"
but the questions came one after another.
I said okay, please let me concentrate for 5 more minutes on what I am doing, and then I will help you install and use it.
My father is a young man, whose knowledge of English is so little, but what is nice about it is that he sometimes deals everything so professionally. He never went to an English class, but he traveled and used computer so much.
as we began to use this messenger http://intl.imqq.com/download.html I found that it seems it's easy to download or share a picture of the screen, or translation of the text at the same time when we type it by controlling the language setting (it contains Source and target Language).
When I asked my father about that friend, He said not only his English is not good, but also he can not write Persian well, because he was not educated, but now he has a website through which he does his business, he searches and finds different translators in the web and communicates with companies in China, Dubai,...Orders and even now he sells through the web and right now he has become so rich and knowledgeable.
I remembered one advice I really liked when I was a child and that was (Travelling is the best teacher) travel around the world to discover and observe and learn more. ( Thanks to Technology, today it's not easy to travel all around the world if you are not rich enough, however it may not be as real as traveling with plane, but I believe watching different pictures, movies, reading stories and searching in the net, communicating with people from different countries, does much like TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD.
I think Technology is a great Teacher itself, We should just learn how to use it in the proper way!!! And I should remember that as a teacher I should try to be knowledgeable enough, to win this competition!
Love your post! Luckily with the tools we have available today, we can "travel" by using technology! I use the BBC language site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/ to learn phrases before I travel to a country. With the help of Google Earth and StumbleUpon, I can search totally awesome places I want to travel to- or at least look at online! When are you coming to the states?

It is amazing what all we can achieve through technology. Everyone can use it with just a little knowledge. My parents who barely speak any English are constantly online trying to find news from back home. The translations are such a great tool and help them tremendously. I also agree with you that "traveling is the best teacher." We can learn a lot from books, but experiencing it for ourselves does so much more good.
